Welcome everyone to the brand new
Neighborhood Rumble page! From this point forward, please refer to
this only as the Diamond Dynasty Neighborhood Rumble Presented by
Kevin Bean's Islington Secession Attempts.. or DDNRPBKBICA. Here is
a detailed breakdown of how this all works, as it appears people
voted for it as a way to either A. shut me up or B. shut everyone up
because it was February.
For those of you who are soccer fans,
think of this as the FA Cup or DNB Pokal or Copa del Rey. It's a way
for everyone to have a shot to win something, despite how their early
season struggles, injuries or, in most cases, just being bad, may
have impacted their early season. Remember, these incentive based
games (IBGs) are meant to keep attention throughout the full season.
The tournament is broken into two major components; Royal Rumble Week
and Tournament.
Royal Rumble Week kicks off this week,
the two week week. Royal Rumble week is to determine seeding and
have a fun ass Royal Rumble. Last year I took a bunch of adderall
and pitched a WWF themed DD season. I kind of got my wish as this
incorporates the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring.
So Royal Rumble Week is this week. We
will be pitted against our neighborhoodmen in a 1 on 1 on 1 on 1 on 1
roto battle to determine seeding. This weeks stats will be used in
the roto, with the tiebreaker being overall record against your own
neighborhood. If that's tied too, tiebreaker is head to head. If
that's tied too, tiebreaker is overall record. As Yahoo! Has taught
us, you can never have too many clear tiebreaker rules.
Once the seeding is accomplished, you
will be placed into this bracket:
Good luck to everyone. To recap, this is a big ass tournament that includes everyone for no reason other than to increase late season involvement. For example, Adrian has nothing to play for right now and many of us in his position would have already sold off players and checked out. Not anymore! Maybe he has some players heating up? Find out in the preview article that is to follow this.
Editor's Note: The loser of the 4-5 matchup on the Westwood side has to drive their car into the window of Kabloom.
